the university of adelaide offers a scholarship program for commencing international students undertaking undergraduate study. scholarships in this program have the following conditions:

academic eligibility
the selection process for the adelaide international undergraduate scholarships is competitive, with academic achievement forming the main basis for scholarship selection. as a general guide, the university of adelaide will consider applicants who have achieved an academic level which is the equivalent of a gpa of 6/7 (85%) for a scholarship.
as the aim of the scholarship program is to attract excellent applicants from a wide range of countries, factors such as country of citizenship and program of study may also be taken into consideration in some cases in the scholarship selection process.

(1)applicants may apply online for a scholarship at any time
(2)applicants must have received an offer of admission from the university before lodging their scholarship application (applicants with a conditional offer may apply, but will need to accept and meet the conditions of their offer before a scholarship can be confirmed)

the faculty will grant up to ten scholarships of aud 10,000 each to applicants commencing in the master of applied economics in 2017. these are partial tuition fee scholarships only. the first award of the scholarship will be made upon commencement of the first semester of studies in adelaide. the second award will be made upon the recipient's commencement of the third semester of studies.
visa entitlement and requirements
scholarship recipients are required to meet the cost of compulsory overseas student health cover (oshc), living costs, cost of return airfares and the remaining tuition fees. these costs are not covered by the scholarship.

commencement
the scholarship must be taken up in the semester and year for which it is offered. the university may withdraw the scholarship if a candidate fails to provide any required documentation or provides false or misleading documentation.
deferment and withdrawal
it is not possible to defer the award and the scholarship cannot be transferred to any other degree or institution.
students who subsequently withdraw from the master of applied economics program of study at the university before the census date for their first semester of study must repay the scholarship in its entirety to the university. any outstanding repayments will be deducted from the tuition fee refund.
application process
an application for admission to the university in 2017 will constitute an application for a scholarship provided that a completed scholarship application form is also forwarded electronically to the faculty.
successful recipients will receive the scholarship offer from the faculty of the professions. all applications will be assessed on a merit-based selection process. to accept the scholarship, the recipient must accept the university offer of admissions by the deadline stipulated in the scholarship offer letter. if no response is received by the specified deadline, the offer of the scholarship will lapse and will be offered to the next eligible candidate.

in order to be eligible for consideration a student must:

selection criteria
the scholarships will be awarded on merit to students from anywhere in the world. applications will be assessed on the basis of the applicant's university results and accompanying motivational letter.
in order to be selected as a scholarship recipient, an applicant must:
(1)achieve a minimum gpa of 5.0 (on a scale of 7.0) in their previous studies; and
(2)furnish a completed online application form by friday 6 january 2017 for the semester 1 of 2017 intake or by friday 2 june 2017 for the semester 2 of 2017 intake.
while scholarships will be available for entry in both semester 1 and semester 2, preference may be given to applicants able to enter in semester 1.
